Josh McBride, the Heat’s president of basketball operations, said Tuesday that center Josh McIsaac will miss the team’s next game and he will be out for a month.
The Heat will play in the next two games without McIsa, who left Tuesday’s practice with a right knee injury.
McIsaac, who had three points and six rebounds, said in a statement that he is “deeply sorry” for the injury.
He also said he was not ready to play again.
“I want to let everyone know I am deeply sorry for the way I treated my teammates and my teammates’ families, my teammates, my coaches, my organization and my fans, and I will work very hard to get better and be a better teammate,” McIsaam said.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said he expects McIsaace to play in Friday’s game against the Clippers.
This is my fifth season with the Heat, Spoelstrashe said.
I think he’s done a great job.
He’s played well and played with great intensity and toughness, but we’ll see how he feels and how he reacts and see how this goes.
He is an absolute warrior and he has been through a lot and he is ready to go.
“The Heat have lost five of their last six games, including a 107-97 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
They haven’t won consecutive games since Nov. 17-21.
